The 28th National Congress of the Italian Society of Intensive Care will take place at Palazzo degli Affari from 16th to 18th November. Leitmotiv: SEPSIS – From evidence-based medicine to precision medicine. Over 600 representatives are expected to come from all over Italy. The purpose of the Italian Society of Intensive Care (SITI) is the development and advance of intensive and critical care medicine from a scientific, educational and welfare point of view. The Society is contributing to the development of this Discipline, by encouraging research, collecting and spreading information, and providing technical and methodological advice. It also promotes the training of qualified staff by creating and maintaining relations with Italian and International Societies having the same purposes. Furthermore, SITI’s purpose is to protect the moral and professional values of those who devote themselves to the study and practice of this Discipline.
Among the various topics to be discussed during the three congress days, sedation in intensive care, SEPSIS in surgery, extracorporeal assistance in patients with septic shock. On Saturday 18th November, from 2.30 p.m. on, a lecture will take place on “Protective ventilation in all patients from surgery to intensive care”, followed by “Intensive care for cancer patients”.
