The National Conference on Medical Simulation will be held at Palazzo degli Affari from the 18th to the 19th May 2012. This is the first edition organised under the aegis of SIMMED, the first Italian Scientific Society focusing on this specific subject, and whose main objective is to connect the various sector professionals to share their experience. Over 150 participants are expected to attend this event. Simulation is a totally interactive ‘training’ system, based on the use of educational tools within the context of an absolutely real clinical situation. In Italy, the use of simulation in medical didactics has been carried out for many years and recently several simulation centres were created in universities and hospitals. The Congress will combine plenary sessions focusing on the theory of simulation and practical demonstrations for small groups. Free interaction will also be encouraged in order to facilitate discussions and debates. The most important International experts of Medical Simulation will be sitting next to Italian speakers and presenters in order to guarantee a high-quality ‘Faculty’ to participants.
