Focus on Cultural Tourism with ART & TOURISM at the Fortezza da Basso – May 18-20, 2012

The new fair opening at the Fortezza da Basso on the 18th May 2012 is the first international event  dedicated to cultural and artistic tourism organised by Ttg Italia, a  company belonging to the Rimini Fiera Group, in co-operation with the Region of Tuscany and with the support of Toscana Promozione and Firenze Fiera. Three non-stop days with important representatives from the world of arts & culture - Suzanne I. Shenton from the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Marion Wolff from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and Evelio Acevedo from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, and last but not least Roberto Cecchi, Undersecretary of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

For the first time, the cultural and artistic supply of the whole world will be on show, side by side with the top tourist offers – museums, galleries, archaeological sites, festivals, public and private institutions, cities renowned for their important cultural heritage and tour operators. The rich schedule will include events, conventions, happenings involving not only the Fortezza, but also famous squares and locations of the historical city centre. While the opening day (Friday, May 18) will be dedicated to professionals from the various product categories involved, from Saturday afternoon on the event will be open to the public, with guided itineraries through the key points of the event. On the last day - Sunday - spotlight on activities, meetings, performances and entertaining events which will turn the fair into a wonderful village devoted to arts, culture and tourism. The fair was created for an international and miscellaneous audience, ranging from public administration to cultural and tourist boards and institutions, from museums and foundations to event agencies, and from the most prestigious art galleries to service agencies working in the cultural industry, up to tourist operators. Around 25,000 visitors, 2,000 trade visitors and 400 international buyers are expected to attend this event.
