The 43rd National ANMCO 2012 Congress of Cardiology is about to open at the Fortezza da Basso - a key event for Cardiologists and Nurses operating in the Italian cardiologic centres. Around 2,500 specialists are expected to attend this event. Among the many new features – explains Prof. Marino Scherillo, Chairman of ANMCO – is the Youth Forum, a precious opportunity to highlight ‘the crème de la crème’ of the young Italian Cardiologists committed in the research and assistance; the presentation of figures concerning the 6th FIC Census of the Italian Cardiologic Centres; an exhibition showing the situation of cardiovascular health in Italy, with figures of all the Italian regions related to the predominance of risk factors in population. This exhibition was born out of an intense collaboration between ANMCO, the Foundation ”Per il Tuo Cuore”(For Your Heart) and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Technical and Scientific Public Body of the Italian National Health Service) within the Progetto Cuore (Heart Project) – Cardiovascular Epidemiologic Observatory.
