Men in Fashion – Pitti Uomo no.82, Fortezza da Basso, June 19-22, 2012

Pitti Uomo has been monitoring and revealing new trends and contaminations of male style for forty years by hosting various classical and casual fashion proposals. 1,053 brands will be on show at the Fortezza da Basso - 416 of which from abroad - and they will be divided into 11 sections for a total exhibiting surface of 59,000 square metres.

75 women collections will also be on show at Pitti W, held at the Dogana - an event progressively becoming a point of reference, as well as a privileged context chosen by the best international brands to present special projects and new collections and to launch global strategies at the beginning of the season . Over 32,000 visitors are expected to attend this event, according to figures of the last summer edition of Pitti Uomo. Among them, 20,000 will be representing the main boutiques and department stores from all over the world. Among the many events organised, do not miss the Guest Designer of this edition -  Guillaume Henry, from the Maison Carven in Paris. At the Leopolda,  the spotlight will be on the Stone Island exhibition, in co-operation with the Pitti Discovery Foundation. The exhibition will highlight 30 years of history and textile experimentation, while at the Fortezza the search for new talents will go on with the Who is on Next project, which has now reached its fourth edition. A perfect mix between fashion and food expression - a key factor of contemporary lifestyle - WonderFood Pitti will be the guiding theme of this edition.  Oliviero Baldini will be the protagonist, turning the central square of the Fortezza into a charming vegetable garden, guarded by a group of scarecrows-mannequins, wearing clothes specifically designed by companies participating in the exhibition.
