Over 400 participants will attend ISDE 11, the 11th International Symposium on Digital Earth to be held at Palazzo dei Congressi from 24th to 27th September 2019.
Digital Earth (a virtual representation of our planet) is a collective multidisciplinary effort involving various types of science – including earth, space and information science – to monitor and predict natural and human phenomena. The objective of this Symposium is to discuss Digital Earth’s contribution to the digital transformation of society and opportunities offered to Digital Earth science by this revolution.
Founded in Beijing in 2006, the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) is a non-profit international organisation mainly promoting academic exchanges, scientific and technological innovation, education and international co-operation in the framework of Digital Earth. The biennial ISDE symposia are the main international events related to scientific and technological progress, as well as to the latest applications for Digital Earth. The main theme of this edition will be “Digital Earth in a Transformed Society”.
During the four days of the symposium the most important scientists in the world will debate on future directions for the coming decades.
This event is also a great opportunity to reach European scientific and industrial communities, increasing their involvement in the vision, development and creation of Digital Earth.
