Beachwear on Show – Fortezza da Basso, July 20-22, 2019

Maredamare, the Italian beachwear fair, is back for its 12th edition at the Fortezza da Basso from 20th to 22nd July 2019. On show, an exclusive preview of Summer 2020 collections by 250 specialist brands, including 60 new entries, over an exhibiting surface of 12,000 square metres. The event will see the participation of some of the most important international brands, as well as small and innovative research ateliers. An exhaustive and qualified offer which, every year, makes this Fair an unmissable event for sector insiders and for buyers of the whole international fashion world.

On schedule, educational workshops, dedicated presentations and a complete programme of collective and personal fashion shows, 2021 trend previews with MarediModa and a space dedicated to young designers participating in the competition named The Link. Once again, this edition sees the collaboration between Maredamare and Nilit Fibers, with a special fashion show marking the debut of the experimental Sweet Sour collection, designed by Isabella Storani and made with Sensil fabrics. Furthermore, this year Maredamare is also hosting an exhibition of underwater art photographs of great impact, thanks to its partnership with the international publication Image in Progress.

“Among the new most interesting features for me – said Alessandro Legnaioli, President of Maredamare – there is one I particularly care for – the project Fortezza 9/24, an event which will surely attract everyone, even the most inattentive visitors. This project “reveals” the Fortezza da Basso, a place full of charm and which very few people actually know in detail. Its secret rooms, monumental part, private accesses, the watchtowers and the hidden passages. At the end of each working day, these wonderful hidden areas will come alive, lightening up and offering their most ancient intimacy to the public. From 6.30 p.m. on, visitors will be able to discover the most secluded parts of this enchanted place through events, meetings and parties”.
