TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN THE MEDITERRANEAN

Regione Toscana, Managing Authority of the Interreg Italy-France Maritime Programme, in cooperation with the Euro-MED and NEXT Med Programmes, organises the event "Towards a More Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean", on 4 May in Florence.
Since 2021, the three Programmes have been working on an experimental multi-programme coordination mechanism and have carried out common action on sustainable tourism. The aim is to enhance the best transferable and most valuable results, creative tools and governance papers and concretely support stakeholders in the tourism sector in the Mediterranean region.
During the event, a summary of the work carried out by several public and private operators in projects of the 2014-2020 programming will be presented. It will be a great opportunity to better understand the real capacity of this partnership to find unique solutions to common problems, with the hope of extending synergies to many other Interreg Programmes in the 2021-2027 programming period.
The event will bring together representatives of the European bodies involved in territorial cooperation, other Interreg Programmes authorities and the representatives of some of the many projects financed in the 2014-2020 programming period.
