The 62nd National Congress of the Italian Society of Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and Hospital Neuroradiologists takes place in the city of Florence, famous throughout the world for its culture, art and history. With this congress, the Italian neurosciences intend to underline the strategic role they want to exercise in the clinical care field, implementing all the progress and innovations of research in the pharmacological, technological and organizational fields.
A common thread of this congress is renewal, understood as the commitment to develop a program full of innovations, involving opinion leaders who know how to best represent the most recent acquisitions and future lines of research 5, which affect the various neuroscience disciplines Italian; at the same time we give space to the youngest, involving the new generations capable of transmitting competence, enthusiasm and faith in the future thanks to the SNO Giovani project.
Another leitmotif of this congress is the collaboration and the transversality that opens up from the neurosciences towards other neighboring disciplines and towards the professions. The sessions will therefore be animated by the contributions of all this set of experiences, skills and knowledge. It will be a stimulus to open our gaze beyond our "boundaries" and our narrow working environments and an effort to see the patient's clinical care pathway rather than a single segment of diagnosis or treatment. Furthermore, this congress also aims to be the culmination of a ten-year experience of close collaboration of the Tuscan neurosciences of the various hospital and territorial areas, of research and clinical practice.
Florence attracts many tourists every year and, in 1982, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hope is that the 62nd National Congress of SNO will be equally attractive for Italian neuroscience and become an opportunity to combine beauty and scientific knowledge in a fascinating setting.
