Events

Florence, May 23rd 2025. Villa Vittoria Cultura is preparing for the 2025 season, based on the success of previous editions and with the aim of continuing to offer the city and its surrounding region an increasingly rich and diverse cultural program. After more than 150 events held, the project – launched in 2020 under the guidance and direction of Giovanni Fittante – has become a significant reference point for accessible culture, a place in the heart of the city where reading and culture serve as tools for both personal and collective growth.

Thanks to the important partnership with Firenze Fiera and the Spadolini Foundation – Nuova Antologia Ets, both longstanding supporters of Villa Vittoria Cultura and contributors to its programming, this year’s edition will once again feature high-level events capable of engaging an ever-growing and passionate audience. The topics covered will span from classical to contemporary arts, including in-depth discussions on philosophy, literature, history, cinema and theater, as well as current issues such as sustainability and innovation.

Gabriella Izzi Benedetti, Tommaso Sacchi, Lorenzo Conti Lapi, Cristina Manetti, Donato Bendicenti, Alessandra Cottoloni with Zia Caterina, the Honorary German Consul in Florence Federico Di Salvo, Rocco Papaleo, Ugo De Vita and the President of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani,

Distinguished guests of the new edition include Gabriella Izzi Benedetti, Tommaso Sacchi, Lorenzo Conti Lapi, Cristina Manetti, Donato Bendicenti, Alessandra Cottoloni con Zia Caterina, il Console onorario di Germania a Firenze Federico Di Salvo, Rocco Papaleo, Ugo De Vita ed il Presidente della Regione Eugenio Giani. This year, the event also enjoys the recognition of the Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Florence and the Metropolitan City.

The season will kick off on Wednesday, May 28th at 6:15 p.m. with the presentation of the book titled “A Penelope che prende la valigia” (To Penelope Who Takes the Suitcase) by Cristina Manetti, Chief of Staff of the Tuscany Region (published by Giunti Editore). The event will begin with an introduction by Giovanni Fittante, president of Villa Vittoria Cultura, followed by the presentation by Lorenzo Becattini, president of Firenze Fiera. The author will then speak alongside Cristina Privitera, deputy editor of La Nazione.

For the fourth consecutive year, the centuries-old park of Palazzo dei Congressi is preparing to host the new season of Villa Vittoria Cultura, which has rightfully become a regular event on Florence’s summer cultural calendar,” said Lorenzo Becattini, president of Firenze Fiera. “Once again, our spaces will serve as a stage for encounters with prominent figures from the world of current affairs and culture in its broadest sense”.

Firenze Fiera will contribute, as in previous editions, to enriching the cultural program with its own initiatives, featuring guests such as Cristina Manetti, Lorenzo Conti Lapi, Alessandra Cottoloni with Zia Caterina and the Honorary German Consul in Florence, Federico Di Salvo.”

We firmly believe,” Becattini concluded, “that adding cultural events to spaces traditionally dedicated to business, fairs and conferences is an added value for our organization and an important driver for fostering cultural connections in the city”.

Villa Vittoria Cultura,” emphasized Cosimo Ceccuti, president of the Spadolini Foundation – Nuova Antologia Ets, “is a project that aims to present cultural initiatives in an engaging way, even to non-specialists, thereby attracting an ever-wider audience. It creates opportunities to introduce books and journals (like “Nuova Antologia”) which are often mistakenly thought to be reserved for experts, but which actually address highly relevant topics in an open debate that benefits everyone. This is why the Spadolini Foundation – Nuova Antologia has renewed its partnership with the project led by our friend Giovanni Fittante, together with Lorenzo Becattini of Firenze Fiera”.

We started with a simple yet ambitious idea: to make culture a tool for positive community change. After five years of work, we’re seeing the fruits of that commitment, but we know there’s still a long road ahead, full of opportunity,” said Giovanni Fittante, president of Villa Vittoria Cultura. “The 2025 season will be even richer, more stimulating, and more dynamic, with a wide array of events designed to meet the needs of an increasingly curious and growth-oriented audience”.

All events will be free and open to the public.
