The Conference on “Chronic Skin Lesions of the Lower Limbs” at Palazzo degli Affari for the First Time, Saturday March 1, 2025

Florence, February 24th, 2025. For the first time, Palazzo degli Affari will host the conference “Chronic Skin Lesions of the Lower Limbs: Proper Management of the Patient and the Lesion” on March 1st, 2025. Now in its 5th edition, the event has grown significantly in recent years, increasing its number of participants and becoming a nationally recognized appointment.
The conference will feature renowned national and international professionals, along with key representatives from various scientific societies. Stefano Michelagnoli, Director of the Department of Surgical Specialties at USL Toscana Centro and Head of the Vascular Surgery Department at the New San Giovanni di Dio – Torregalli Hospital, is the president of the conference. Two members of the vascular surgery team, Renzo Lombardi and Patrizia Dalla Caneva, are respectively scientific coordinator and head of the scientific secretariat.
The goal of the event is to outline the best and most effective ways to manage a significant medical condition, such as ulcers or – more technically – chronic skin lesions, a problem that is becoming increasingly prevalent, particularly among elderly patients or those with limited mobility.
This condition is associated with a range of complex issues, from the coverage of significant healthcare costs to the need for a multidisciplinary therapeutic approach. It is well known that ulcer therapy requires “management” from various healthcare professionals. Therefore, it is essential for patients to be referred to well-structured hospital centers with dedicated expertise. Even more crucial is the hospital-community continuity of care to ensure proper supervision of the lesions throughout all stages of development.
The conference aims to provide shared and up-to-date guidelines for the treatment of skin lesions and the management of patients, highlighting the need for synergies among various possibilities and underscoring both innovations and well-established practices based on years of clinical experience. Topics of significant interest will be discussed, considering the established professionalism of the speakers.
It will be the ideal venue to clarify all aspects of this rapidly evolving field, especially as today’s “care” can benefit not only from traditional treatments but also from engineering solutions in regenerative medicine.
The event is open not only to surgeons but also to nurses, physiotherapists and podiatrists, with free participation. To register, please sign up at the following link: https://fimo.biz/.
