The situation led by COVID-19, has reminded to the academics and the operators the importance of an interpretation on health and disease as events that depend on many and various aspects and that also the interventions to guarantee the health and to reconquer it are strongly connected.
Specifically, for elders the different situations play an action even more vivid in determine the quality and quantity of life. It is up to a careful and cultured medical science to use at the same time the cognitive and cultural tools more traditional together with the most advanced ones in order to structure more efficient responses.
In this context, the Congress will face the issues raised by the pandemic with an unified vision, that takes into account the biology, the clinics, the organisation of the welfare services, of the production, of the education of the young, of the construction of a widespread culture, attentive especially to the mutual responsibilities of living together. In the elder these various aspects can be observed with a higher incisiveness and with more relevant consequences.
On the background of various talks during the congress there is the commitment to design together the psychogeriatrics of the rebirth to be as much as possible useful for the wellness of the elderly in our time, also thanks to the interpretation of what has happened in these months.
