Villa Vittoria Cultura presents the 2026 season: a new year of encounters, arts, and contemporary visions. Opening on Wednesday, May 27 at 6:15 PM with the presentation of Vannino Chiti’s book “Will democracy survive this century?”

Florence, May 22, 2026. The 2026 season of Villa Vittoria Cultura is set to begin, featuring a rich program of events dedicated to literature, poetry, art, history, contemporary thought, and interdisciplinary dialogue. Over the years, the initiative has become a well-established and highly anticipated highlight of Florence’s summer cultural calendar.

Following the success of previous editions, the new season aims to serve as an open space for discussion and participation, bringing together writers, intellectuals, institutions, and audiences through immersive and multidisciplinary cultural experiences.

The important partnership with Firenze Fiera and the Fondazione Spadolini – Nuova Antologia ETS, both long-standing supporters of Villa Vittoria Cultura and contributors to its high-quality programming, will once again make it possible to present outstanding events through September 30, 2026, attracting an increasingly large and loyal audience. The wide range of themes explored will span art, history, literature, poetry, performance, and philosophy, from the Middle Ages to the present day, placing culture at the center as a tool for connection, innovation, and collective growth.

Vannino Chiti, Giovanna Dolfi, Lorenzo Conti Lapi, Carlo Conti, Marco Del Panta, Giovanni Tosco, Gianpaolo Cionini, Alessandro Sarti, and the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, are just some of the leading figures taking part in this new season, which is held under the patronage of the Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Florence, and the Metropolitan City of Florence.

The 2026 season will officially open on Wednesday, May 27, with the presentation of Vannino Chiti’s book “Will Democracy Survive This Century?” (published by Casa Editrice I libri di Mompracem), in the presence of Firenze Fiera President Lorenzo Becattini, Fondazione Spadolini Nuova Antologia President Cosimo Ceccuti, and Villa Vittoria Cultura President Giovanni Fittante. Joining the author will also be Bernardo Gianni, Abbot of the Basilica of San Miniato and Cristina Manetti, Regional Councillor for Culture of the Tuscany Region.

“With Villa Vittoria Cultura, Firenze Fiera is expanding its offerings,” stated Lorenzo Becattini, President of Firenze Fiera. “Not only is it a prestigious venue for some of the most important trade fairs and congresses, but it is also becoming an attractive reference point for contemporary cultural production, in dialogue with the villa’s extraordinary historical identity. We want our spaces to increasingly become vibrant places capable of hosting ideas, debate, art, and participation.”

“Again this year,” Becattini added, “Firenze Fiera will enrich the program with its own initiatives featuring Lorenzo Conti Lapi, Giovanni Tosco, Gianpaolo Cionini, Alessandro Sarti, and the President of the Tuscany Regional Government, Eugenio Giani.”

“The Fondazione Spadolini Nuova Antologia,” said Foundation President Cosimo Ceccuti, “is pleased to confirm its partnership with Villa Vittoria Cultura in a collaboration that sees us working alongside Firenze Fiera in a shared cultural commitment. Book presentations, previews, debates, and meetings open to all are promoted together with our friends Giovanni Fittante and Lorenzo Becattini. Villa Vittoria is a place that allows direct and immediate dialogue between authors, publishers, and an engaged and participating audience.”

“In particular, the Fondazione Spadolini Nuova Antologia reserves Villa Vittoria for the presentation of the two ‘summer’ issues of the quarterly journal Nuova Antologia: the April–June edition and the July–September edition. Alongside the journal’s editor and publisher, Polistampa, two contributors featured in the issue will take part in the meetings, confirming that this prestigious publication, which has been in print for 161 years, combines scientific quality with the ability to engage a broad readership through topics of great contemporary relevance rooted in historical memory.”

“The core of this 2026 edition can be summed up in two words: continuity and innovation,” added Giovanni Fittante, President of Villa Vittoria Cultura. “Over the past six years, we have organized 170 events at Villa Vittoria Cultura, building a stable community and demonstrating that culture can be a shared journey rather than a series of isolated episodes. Villa Vittoria Cultura aims to reaffirm itself as a free, independent, and inclusive cultural laboratory, where different perspectives engage in respectful dialogue and where culture is substance, not merely form. This year our journey will be especially eclectic, bringing the great dilemmas of our time and the value of civil debate even closer to citizens.”

All events are free and open to the public.
