Didacta Italia 2026: spotlight on schools leading change and on the #socialprof area

Florence, March 2, 2026. From March 11 to 13, at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, the 13th edition of Didacta Italia shines a spotlight on many new aspects of the school system, as documented by the new section entirely dedicated to schools of all levels that are driving innovation.

Six schools, carefully selected on the basis of the transformative processes currently underway, will take center stage in this narrative. The experiences presented will cover a very broad age range, from early childhood education (0–6) through upper secondary school, offering a concrete and cross-cutting view of how innovation is redefining time, space, methodologies, and the organization of teaching. The aim is not only to present projects, but to tell stories: how the idea for change is born, how it is designed, what obstacles it encounters, and what results it produces in terms of learning and the growth of the school community. A direct account, through the voices of the protagonists, intended to inspire and stimulate constructive dialogue.

The seminars on the program will address key themes in the evolution of the education system, starting with early childhood and moving to reflection on the first cycle of education with “The flexible use of school time for the personalization of learning pathways and the reconfiguration of learning environments.”

Significant attention will also be devoted to lower secondary school with a session featuring the Montessori method model, while upper secondary education will be the focus of several in-depth events, including “Innovating the traditional high school model: reorganization of the curriculum, teaching methods, school time, and student assessment.”

Completing the picture, there will be a look at technological frontiers with “Innovating textbook use with AI and building personalized educational content based on students’ Cognitive Styles,” demonstrating how organizational and digital innovation can strategically intertwine.

These discussion sessions will take place in the room dedicated to school model innovation at the Cavedio (Room 18), next to which information desks will be set up to encourage direct dialogue with the participating schools.

Alongside reflection on organizational and teaching models, Didacta Italia 2026 will also broaden its focus to how innovation is communicated and shared within the educational community.

Following the success of previous editions, the #socialprof area will once again be present this year, hosted in the Nazioni Pavilion, where teachers, creators, trainers, and education professionals meet to transform digital storytelling into a concrete and shared experience.

There will be a focus on key topics in the educational debate, starting with artificial intelligence, at the center of discussions that consider both the potential of conscious and educational use — including through video games such as Minecraft, capable of opening new virtual learning spaces — and the limits and boundaries that should not be crossed.

The narrative will then expand to major issues in today’s educational landscape, from the role of civic education in combating gender stereotypes to the challenges related to teacher burnout and professional isolation.

Special guests and well-known creators from the digital education landscape will share experiences and best practices, including Maestra Giulia, Prof. Spettinata, Maestro Libero, Elia Bombardelli, Paolo Coletti, Giacomo Visconti, Antonella Muratori, as well as Prof Iulietto, Prof Breccia, Je suis Sabrine, Maestra colorata, and Maestra Samuela.

The #socialprof area is supported, through the social partner package, by the exhibitor BiBi Academy and Carlo Cuomo, in collaboration with Il Prof dell’Edutainment.

Didacta Italia is organized by Firenze Fiera with the scientific partnership of INDIRE. Partner: Didacta International.
