Didacta Italia arrives in Abruzzo: from October 21 to 23, 2026 at Lanciano Fiera, the most important event on the school of the future

Florence/L’Aquila, May 4, 2026. DIDACTA ITALIA, following the success of its latest edition held at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence this past March (which closed with over 25,000 attendees), is coming to Abruzzo at the Lanciano Fiera exhibition center from October 21 to 23, 2026.

Didacta Italia, a spin-off of Didacta International—the world’s most important event dedicated to the school of the future—is organized by Firenze Fiera in partnership with INDIRE and in collaboration with Didacta International. The fair offers a scientific program curated by INDIRE and coordinated by Prof. Giovanni Biondi, featuring workshops and seminars, supported by an organizing committee made up of the main national and regional institutions and bodies involved.

Didacta Italia – Abruzzo Edition (the fifth spin-off after editions held in Sicily, Puglia, and the Autonomous Province of Trento) is aimed at all levels of education: early childhood (0–6), primary, lower and upper secondary schools, vocational institutes, ITS, universities, scientific research institutes, and professional training institutions, as well as school professionals, companies, and all sector stakeholders. All categories in the field are involved: school principals, teachers, trainers, major professional associations, and local administrators.

Alongside the training offer, there will be a rich exhibition area featuring leading national and international companies in the education supply chain: from stationery and publishing to school architecture and furnishings, from museum education and school tourism to environmental and physical education, from language training to ITS and vocational education, up to the most advanced technologies, including robotics and immersive environments.

“We were pleased to accept the invitation of the President of the Abruzzo Region, Marco Marsilio, and the Regional Councillor for Education, Roberto Santangelo, to organize the 5th spin-off of Didacta Italia in this region. This is an important new event born from the desire to strengthen dialogue with local realities, enhance regional specificities, and concretely contribute to the development of educational innovation across the country,” said the President of Firenze Fiera, Lorenzo Becattini. “Over the years, Didacta Italia has established itself as an essential reference point for the world of education. Bringing this format to new regions means expanding opportunities for meetings, professional development, and growth for teachers, school leaders, and sector operators. In this context,” Becattini concluded, “Firenze Fiera intends to reaffirm its role as a strategic infrastructure serving the country, capable of creating connections and supporting the cultural, economic, and social development of different communities.”

Describing it as a “unique opportunity for Abruzzo,” the President of the Regional Government of Abruzzo, Marco Marsilio, stated: “The decision, agreed upon with the leadership of Firenze Fiera, to bring Italy’s leading school event to Abruzzo further strengthens a clear strategy that the regional government has pursued since the beginning of its mandate: consolidating Abruzzo’s image by giving it a national profile through the hosting of major events. Didacta is an important part of this strategy for Abruzzo, but above all it confirms that major event organizers—such as Firenze Fiera, without a doubt—now look to Abruzzo as a reliable partner with whom to share the organization and realization of major initiatives.”

“In October, Abruzzo will be the capital of Italian education. Didacta,” emphasized the Regional Councillor for Education, Roberto Santangelo, “is the ‘great opportunity’ that a region with ambitions for growth cannot afford to miss. Thanks also to the credibility built in recent years, we have succeeded in placing Abruzzo at the center of national education dynamics. In this way, we provide teachers, school leaders, and education professionals in Abruzzo with a unique tool for growth and exchange, helping them better understand the changes that the education world experiences year after year. Entering a national dimension will, I am certain, allow for the professional growth of all the key players in the Abruzzo school system, with clear positive effects on teaching and on the relationship between schools and families.”
